CRITERIA

The Yarmouth Local NSTU awards student bursaries, in the amount of $500 each, to children of active members in the Yarmouth Local NSTU.

The bursary winners will be selected by random draw during the Local NSTU at the end of June.  The winners will be officially announced after. The number of bursaries is dependent on the budget approved at the AGM.

Guidelines: Child/Children of Yarmouth Local NSTU members are eligible to apply for bursaries if they meet the following guidelines:

a) Student will be enrolled in a post-secondary institution (i.e. community college, university, etc.) for the coming academic year (2022/2023).

b) Student must be enrolled in an undergraduate program or equivalent (cannot be a Masters or other Graduate level program).

c) Student has not received a Yarmouth Local NSTU bursary in the past.

d) Parent/Legal Guardian must be an Active NSTU member (at time of application and as of Sept.1, 2022). Administrators who are no longer NSTU members are NOT eligible.

e) Student must provide proof of enrollment program (if approved) in order for funds to be disbursed.

Additional Guidelines: a) Student may only receive one bursary from Yarmouth Local NSTU,  in their lifetime.

b) Bursary will be paid out, via cheque, to the institution..

Please note: Should a student bursary be awarded; additional information will be required by our Local Executive (proof of enrolment). If this information is received and verified, then cheques will be written and sent out in September, 2022 to the institution.  If proof of enrollment is not sent in, funds will be sent to alternates. A letter of acceptance into a program is not sufficient for proof of enrolment. Usually we accept a photocopy of the student’s ID card, verification of course enrolment (course schedule) or a letter from the institution.
